New Types of CBD Extracts available on the market.

Today I’m going to talk about the new types of CBD extracts that are coming to the market and the difference between them.

CBD extraction has come a long way since becoming popular. We started with alcohol extraction and now the industry is using CO2 extraction. While companies were once dependent on simple extraction techniques, today’s world state-of-the-art extraction is anything but simple.
One of the newest production processes is known as distillation…and it’s something making waves across the cannabis industry. I will cover this later.

Broad Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD is a bit of a mix between Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate.
Like Full Spectrum CBD the other compounds found within the plant are preserved in the extract however broad-spectrum oils have had all the THC stripped out of them.
Because broad-spectrum oil contains all the other cannabinoids, it can deliver the benefits of the “entourage effect,” without the risk of any psychoactive effects that THC can cause when taken in large amounts.

Full-spectrum CBD

Full-spectrum CBD is an extract that contains all the compounds found naturally in the plant, including terpenes like myrcene and linalool and all the other cannabinoids. The full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes extracted from the plant work together to increase the overall benefits of each cannabinoid.
It was previously believed that CBD in its isolated from was more effective than Full Spectrum CBD, however, there have been many studies which show a full spectrum oil is more beneficial than an isolated oil.

CBD Isolate

In scientific terms, an isolate is the purest form of a compound, which is produced by singularly extracting that compound. CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, which is produced by removing all other compounds found in the plant including terpenes, flavonoids, plant parts, and other cannabinoids.
This comes as a white powder and can be mixed with pretty much anything. It’s illegal to sell it as an oral oil so it gets used for cosmetic products.

CBD Distillate

Distillation is defined as:
1. The action of purifying a liquid by a process of heating or cooling
2. The extraction of the essential meaning or most important aspect of something

CBD distillation is a process that creates concentrates that are “cleaner” than other concentrates. Distillates are also one of the most potent types of concentrates on the market. Distillation of hemp allows for the extraction of cannabinoids that offer a pure and potent product that has a lot of potential in terms of applications.
These extracts still contain the other compounds found in the plant. Distillation is an extraction process that separates and refines cannabinoids at a molecular level for a pure product.
